Josh Smith (Parsippany, N.J.) its Rookie of the Week and senior DL
Michael Bonsu (Atlanta) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 2.
Smith earned his third Rookie of the Week selection of the season after rushing for 191 yards and three touchdowns, including a 90-yard scamper on the second play of the game, in leading the Cougars to a 42-8 win at STAC on Friday. He also completed 10 of 20 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown in the triumph.
Bonsu was named CSFL Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. Against STAC, he recorded eight tackles, six of them solo. He also collected 4 1/2 tackles for loss and four sacks. Bonsu also forced a fumble and had one pass break-up.
The Cougars conclude the 2024 season against CSFL South rival Navy at Bonnel Field on Saturday at 6 p.m.
