NEWARK, Del. — Junior goalkeeper Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas) recorded three saves but Caldwell women's soccer couldn't dent the net, falling 2-0 to regular season champion Jefferson (17-1-2) in the CACC Championship Game at Wlimington University Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute, then doubled their lead four minutes into the second half. The Cougars had several scoring chances, the best of which were a free kick from 25 yards out by graduate defender Megan Feehan (Point Pleasant, N.J.) in the 25th minute that sailed high, a header by junior forward Rosie Cardenas (Forked River, N.J.) off a corner kick in the 53rd minute that angled left and shot by senior forward Kayla Willis (Union, N.J.) from inside the box from eight yards in the 77th minute that stayed right. The Cougars had one more strong free kick attempt by Feehan in the 82nd minute that also lifted high over the crossbar.

The second-seeded Cougars recorded eight shots to seven for Jefferson while each team had four corner kick attempts in the contest.

Gaminara, Cardenas, junior forward Taina Gervais (Port-Au-Prince, Haiti) and senior defender Isabella Vitella (Roseland, N.J.) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cougars finish the season at 12-5-2, the program's most victories since a 12-7-1 mark in 2018.
