CALDWELL, N.J.  --  Junior setter Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and senior middle blocker/outside hitter Alexa McEwan (Beachwood, N.J.) each drilled seven kills as Caldwell volleyball (1-19, 1-9) fell to their CACC rival Goldey-Beacom Lightning (12-11, 5-5) 3-0 at the Newman Center.

The Cougars attempted a furious comeback in the third set that came up a little short. Goldey-Beacom had match-point with a 24-13 lead but Caldwell ripped off eight straight points to cut the deficit to 24-21. After a Lightning timeout, Goldey-Beacom was able to finish the sweep with a kill.

Freshman setter Grace Moliterno (Chester, NY) picked up 11 assists in the loss.

Caldwell will host Mercy University in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at 7 PM.
