PHILADELPHIA -- Graduate forward
Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) scored on a penalty in the 28th minute and sophomore goalkeeper
Kevin Sabadin (Mantena, Brazil) made three saves to preserve a 1-1 draw at Holy Family (3-3-2, 1-1-1) in CACC men's soccer action at Tiger Field on Saturday.
Senior midfielder
Alex Spencer (St. Andrew, Jamaica) fed a long ball down the left side to senior forward
Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil), who made a couple of moves on goal before he was taken down in the penalty area. Vieira converted the PK to give the Cougars (5-1-1, 1-1-1 CACC) the 1-0 lead.
After the Tigers tied it 16 minutes later, the teams played level the rest of the way, each taking 16 shots and earning seven corners apiece.
In the final seconds, the Cougars appeared to take the lead after the HFU keeper put the ball down in front of the Tigers net, a Cougar player kicked into the open goal, but the referees disallowed the goal after ruling play had not restarted.
The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday when they host CACC foe Dominican in a 4 p.m. start at Caldwell Athletic Field.
