CALDWELL, N.J. -- Junior forward
Melissa Martinez (Elizabeth, N.J.) and graduate forward
Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) had two goals each and the tandem of soph GK
Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas, Nev.) and freshman
Greta Farestad (Sewell, N.J.) combined for the Cougars' second straight shutout as Caldwell Women's Soccer (4-2, 2-0 CACC) posted a 4-0 win over Felician (0-6-2, 0-3 CACC) in a CACC matchup at Kiwanis Oval.
Martinez got the Cougars off to a fast start in just the fifth minute, taking a feed from junior defender
Isabella Vitella (Roseland, N.J.) and slipping it past the keeper for a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, she repeated the feat, this time taking a through pass from Costanza and drilling it in to double the Cougars advantage.
Then after getting taken down in the box in the 20th minute, Costanza converted the penalty as the hosts took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Costanza scored on another PK in the 50th minute for the final margin.
Gaminara finished with six saves and Farestad had one in the final 11 minutes in net.
The Cougars visit Holy Family on Saturday at noon in Philadelphia in their next action.
