RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Sophomore attacker
Madison Ellis (Wayne, N.J.) scored a season-best seven goals but the Cougars women's lacrosse team couldn't maintain a halftime lead, falling at CACC foe Felician, 19-12 at Tryon Field.
The Cougars jumped to a 6-3 lead early in the second quarter on a goal by freshman midfielder
Megan Molinelli (East Windsor, N.Y.) following four by Ellis and one by senior attacker/midfielder
Kelsey Maxwell (Center Moriches, N.Y.). They still led, 7-6 at halftime after Maxwell's second goal with 3:22 left in the second quarter.
But Felician scored five of the next six goals to lead, 10-8, before Ellis closed the Cougars to with a goal with 2:24 to play in the third. But three straight Golden Falcons markers gave the hosts a cushion they wouldn't relinquish.

Maxwell had four goals for the Cougars and Molinelli added two assists to her secong-quarter marker.
