NEW CASTLE, Del.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team opened the second half of their season with a 3-2 record on day one of the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill College. The Cougars stand in tenth place out of 20 teams following day one with a total pinfall of 4,565.
The Cougars fell in their opening match to Norfolk State University 904-842, while they defeated Kutztown University 1,005-909. Caldwell came up short to Fairleigh Dickinson University 1,042-900 but closed out the first day with a pair of wins. The Cougars defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College 838-650, while edging Delaware State University 980-963 to end the day.
Senior
Rhianna Smith (Mount Olive, N.J.) led the Cougars with a 20.79 baker average. Junior
Lauren Marks (Parsippany, N.J.) was close behind with a 20.37 baker average, while graduate
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) posted a 17.50 average. Sophomore
Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) finished the day with a 17.00 baker average.
