PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted 13 points as the Cougars saw their season end with a 68-43 loss to South #1 Thomas Jefferson University in the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Quarterfinals.
The Cougars end their season at 10-18 overall, while the Rams improve to 26-3 and advance to the CACC semifinals on Saturday.
O'Shaughnessy netted seven points in the opening quarter, including connecting on a triple, to help the Cougars build a 12-10 lead at the 3:20 mark. The Rams rallied back as they pulled ahead 25-14 early in the second quarter.
O'Shaughnessy converted with a three-point play to close the gap to 25-17 with 6:46 left in the first half. Thomas Jefferson answered as they pushed ahead 40-23 at halftime. The Rams maintained their advantage into the second half as the Cougars season came to a close.
O'Shaughnessy led the way with 13 points and two rebounds, while graduate
Saundra Cleckley (Far Rockaway N.Y.) finished with nine points and four boards. Senior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) tallied a team-high 10 rebounds, while senior
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) totaled four rebounds and two blocks. Freshman
Alisa Blalock (Uniondale, N.Y.) recorded five steals.
