JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) netted 15 points as the Cougars were edged by Alliance University 60-55 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 10-16 on the season and 6-11 in the CACC, while Alliance improves to 5-18 and 4-12 in conference play.
Senior
Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) drained an early triple to help the Cougars build a 11-6 lead late in the opening quarter. Alliance rallied to pull even at 13 early in the second quarter. Caldwell retook the lead at 15-13 but Alliance answered as the pulled ahead 28-19 at halftime.
Alliance extended their lead to 33-23 early in the third quarter but the Cougars rallied with seven straight points. Brown drained a three-pointer as Caldwell closed the gap to 33-30 at the 7:04 mark. Alliance answered to push ahead by 12 points at 42-30 late in the third quarter.
Caldwell got as close at two points at 51-49 following a three-pointer by freshman
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) with 2:29 left in the game. Alliance matched the Cougars down the stretch to hold on for the win.

The Cougars close out the regular season as they host Bloomfield College for a CACC contest on Saturday, February 25 at 1 pm. Saturday's game will also be senior day for the Cougars.
