RINDGE, N.H. -- Sophomore guard
Darnell Evans (Amityville, N.Y.) had 16 points and seven rebounds, leading four Cougars in double figures, but a second half rally pushed host Franklin Pierce to an 85-69 triumph over Caldwell Men's Basketball at The Fieldhouse.
The Cougars led for most of a tight first half, taking its largest lead of seven late in the first half on a jumper by junior guard
Mark Heber (Paterson, N.J.), who finished with 13 points, and free throw by Evans. But a late three by FPU (3-6) and 6-0 run to start the second half put the hosts up, 47-44, and after CU briefly took back the lead, another run put the Ravens ahead to stay.
Heber had a team-high nine rebounds, while sophomore guard
Kirk Parsons (Newark, N.J. had 11 and junior forward
Derrick Bueno (Palisades Park, N.J.) 10 for the Cougars (4-4).
Caldwell next visits Adelphi on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Garden City, N.Y.
