NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Sophomore guard
Darnell Evans (Deer Park, N.Y.) has been named CACC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, following two standout performances for the Cougars.
Evans poured in a career-high 42 points on 15 of 25 from the floor (3/4 from three) and 9/11 from the line, adding five rebounds and two steals in Caldwell's win at AIC on Sunday. He also had a game-high 20 against STAC on Tuesday.
At 26.6 points per game, Evans currently leads the CACC and ranks second in NCAA Division II in scoring. He has had 20 or more points in four of the five games and has played all but two minutes in the last three contests.
Evans and the Cougars face their first CACC test of the season at Felician on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in a matchup of the last two league champions.
