WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Senior
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) again showed her versatility, collecting 37 assists, 13 digs, nine kills, four service aces and two blocks and sophomore hitter
Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) contribued 13 digs, seven blocks and six kills as Caldwell volleyball pulled out a five-set win at West Chester in a non-league contest at Hollinger Fieldhouse on Monday evening.
The Cougars got off to a fast start, winning the first set, 25-21, closing it out with two consecutive Schubert-Brown kills after one by freshman hitter
Andrea Enabosi (Piscataway, N.J.).
With the second set tied at 24, Enabosi gave the Cougars the lead before an attack error by the Rams gave the visitors a 2-0 set lead.
West Chester (9-11) rallied, though, taking the next two sets, but the Cougars would not be denied. The exciting fifth set went down to the wire, the Cougars finally winning on a McEwan kill to take it, 15-13.
Senior middle blocker
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) had 11 kills and five blocks, Enabosi finished with eight kills and 10 digs, and sophomore DS/L
Torrien Jones (Camp Springs, Md.) anchored the back line with a season-high 17 digs and added a season-best six assists for Caldwell (2-17).
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday when they return to CACC play vs. Holy Family at the Newman Center at a special early start time of 11 a.m
