WATERBURY, Conn. -- Sophomore hitter Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) had a team-high seven kills and senior Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) registered 19 assists as Caldwell volleyball fell, 3-0, to Post (4-17, 4-5 CACC) in a league matchup at Drubner Center on Tuesday night.

The Cougars put together two competitive sets, trailing just 19-18 in the first before the Eagles reeled off the last six points.

In the second, CU (1-15, 1-9 CACC) trailed, 24-18, but facing six set points was able to stave off four of them, on two aces by Sherwood sandwiched around kills by freshman hitter Andrea Enabosi (Piscataway, N.J.) and junior RS Natalie Piper (Long Beach, Calif.) to pull to within 24-22 before the Eagles closed the set, then took the third, 25-12 to secure the match.

Piper and senior middle blocker Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) contributed four kills each and sophomore DS Torrien Jones (Camp Springs, Md.) led CU defensively with 19 digs.

The Cougars host Bridgeport on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Newman Center in their next action.
