RUTHERFORD, N.J.- Caldwell University women's soccer senior
Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) notched a goal and an assist as the Cougars posted a 3-0 shutout victory over Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 2-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 1-4-1 and 0-1-0 in conference play.
Caldwell was paced by three first half goals as they got on the board in the first minute of play as sophomore
Alexa Peto (Toms River, N.J.) scored off an assist from Costanza.
Costanza tallied the second goal of the game in the fifth minute of play for a 2-0 lead. The Cougars added a goal late in the half as freshman
Samantha Dakake (Riverdale, N.J.) scored the final tally off an assist from senior
Brianna Lewis (Tucson, Ariz.).
Caldwell controlled the pace of the game, outshooting Felicina 15-6 and 11-3 in shots on goal. The Cougars also held the edge on corner kicks 2-0.
Freshman
Ariana Gaminara (North Las Vegas, Nev.) stopped three shots in 90 minutes in net to earn the win.
The Cougars host Georgian Court University in a CACC contest on Saturday, September 17 at 11 am.
