ALBANY, N.Y.- Caldwell University men's soccer senior
Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) netted a game-tying goal in the second half but the Cougars fell short to The College of Saint Rose 3-2 to wrap up their season-opening road trip.
The Cougars fall to 0-2-0, while the Golden Knights improve to 1-1-0.
Caldwell got on the board first as junior
Alex Spencer (St. Andrew, Jamaica) scored in the 18th minute of play to put the Cougars up 1-0.
Saint Rose broke through in the second half as they notched two goals 55 seconds apart in the 59th minute of play to take a 2-1 lead.
Vieira answered for the Cougars 42 seconds after the Golden Knights second goal to pull tie the scored at 2-2.
The Golden Knights netted the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute and held on down the stretch.
Saint Rose held the edge in shots 18-9, while corner kicks were even at 6-6.
Sophomore
Dylan Valencia (Elizabeth, N.J.) posted five saves in 90 in net.
The Cougars travel to Bloomsburg University on Thursday, September 1 at 7:30 pm.
