Courtney Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) connected on a two-run homerun, while senior
Lauren Stansell (Plantation, Fla.) added three hits as the Cougars defeated defending East Region Champions Saint Anselm College 8-0 in five innings to close out their season-opening Florida trip.

The Cougars post their sixth region win of the early season as they improve to 6-3 overall in 2022.

Caldwell got on the board in the opening inning as senior
Chloe VanGorder (Harveys Lake, Pa.) drove in the first run with a single. Caldwell added two runs in the second as freshman
Jessica Klein (Trevose, Pa.) hit a sacrifice fly to score one run, while Stansell added a run-scoring single.

Grudhauser blasted a two-run homerun in the third inning, while Stansell drove in her second run of the day with a single. The Cougars ended the game in the fifth as freshman
Allison Winters (Blairstown, N.J.) doubled in the seventh run of the game. Winters eventually scored the game-ending run on a wild pitch in the inning.

Senior
Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) improved to 4-1 on the season as she tossed 4 2/3 shutout innings, allowing three with two strikeouts. Winters retired the lone batter she faced in the top of the fifth.

With their Florida trip concluded, the Cougars return north for their home opener as they host American International College on Tuesday, March 22 at 2 pm.
