NEW CASTLE, Del.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted a 3-1 record to finish in fifth place on day one of the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
The Cougars finished with a total pinfall of 4,192 over five rounds with four head-to-head matches. Caldwell won their first three matches as they defeated Bloomfield College 859-797. The Cougars posted a 954-649 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College 825-736 and downed Kutztown University 803-770. Caldwell fell in their final match of the day with a 914-819 setback to Wilmington University.
Junior
Rhianna Smith (Mt Olive, N.J.) led the Cougars with an 18.58 baker average, while senior
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) finished with a 17.36 baker average.
Freshman
Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) posted a baker average of 17.20 with senior
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) recording a 16.56 baker average. Freshman
Hayley Vesek (Dallas, Pa.) rounded out the top Caldwell performers on day one with a 16.50 baker average.
The Cougars conclude play at the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill on Sunday, February 6.
