NEW CASTLE, Del.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team finished in second place as they closed out play at the Wildcats D2-D3 Invitational hosted by Wilmington University.
Playing in a baker best 4-of-7 bracket format on day three, the Cougars entered the day in fourth place. Caldwell defeated third seed Mercyhurst University 4-2 to advance in the bracket. The Cougars advanced to the championship match as they edged top seed Wilmington 4.5-2.5. In the championship match, Caldwell and Daemen College battled to a tie 3.5-3.5 but the Wildcats won the tiebreaker 118-76 to capture first place with the Cougars taking second place.
Senior
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) led the Cougars with a baker average of 23.38, while junior
Rhianna Smith (Mt Olive, N.J.) posted a baker average of 22.37.
Freshman
Paige Clegg (Deptford, N.J.) finished with a baker average of 20.87, while freshman
Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) totaled a baker average of 20.80. Freshman
Hayley Vesek (Dallas, Pa.) rounded out the top Cougars with a baker average of 18.71.
The Cougars return to play February 25-27 as they compete in the Hawk Flight Invitational hosted by Monmouth University in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.
