NEW CASTLE, Del.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team secured fourth place following day two of the Wildcats D2-D3 Invitational hosted by Wilmington University. The Cougars head to Sunday's bracket play in fourth place and will open the final day against Mercyhurst University.
The Cougars opened the day as they tied Bloomfield College 964-964 but won the tiebreaker 84-51 for their first win of the day. Caldwell fell short to Mercyhurst 967-962 but rebounded with an 886-878 victory against Felician University. The Cougars lost their final two matches of the day 980-878 to Kutztown University and 1,012-961 to Wilmington.
Junior
Rhianna Smith (Mt Olive, N.J.) led the Cougars with a five round traditional average of 213.6 with a high game of 278 to take fourth place. Senior
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) posted a five-round traditional average of 210.2 with a high game of 235 coming in fifth place.
Freshman
Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) finished with a five-round average of 177.8 with a high game of 198, while freshman
Hayley Vesek (Dallas, Pa.) posted a two round average of 178.0 with a high round of 181. Freshman
Paige Clegg (Deptford, N.J.) rounded out the top Cougars with a five-round traditional average of 175.4 with a high game of 191.
The Cougars close out play at the Wildcats D2-D3 Invitational hosted by Wilmington on Sunday, February 20 with a three-round bracket in best 4-of-7 baker format.
