PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led the team in rebounds as the Cougars finished the 2022 calendar year with a 74-54 setback to Holy Family University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
The Cougars fall to 5-7 on the season and 1-3 in the CACC, while the Tigers improve to 9-5 and 4-0 in conference play.
The Tigers jumped out to an early first quarter advantage but the Cougars trimmed the score to 38-27 late in the second quarter following a lay-up by senior
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
Caldwell pulled to within nine points at 45-46 midway through the third quarter following a jumper by freshman
Amyah Bray (Manchester, N.J.). Holy Family extended their lead late in the quarter and maintained their advantage into the fourth quarter.
O'Shaughnessy led the way with 16 points, three rebounds and two steals. Senior
Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) added seven points and four boards, freshman
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) recorded three blocks. Wagoner led the team in rebounds with eight.
The Cougars return home to start 2023 as they host the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday, January 4 at 5:30 pm
