NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led the way with 13 points as the Cougars fell to Southern Connecticut State University 70-50 in a non-conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 2-4 on the season, while the Owls improve to 4-1.
The teams played a competitive first half as the teams traded leads twice with five ties over the first two quarters of play. Freshman
Alisa Blalock (Uniondale, N.Y.) give the Cougars a 12-11 lead late in the first quarter with a lay-up.
The Owls pushed ahead 17-15 early in the second quarter but Wagoner scored at the 8:07 mark to tie the score at 17. Southern Connecticut closed the quarter with a run to lead 26-21 at the break.

Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) drained a triple to close the gap to 33-28 at the 7:28 mark. The Owls pushed their lead into double-digits late in the quarter and maintained their advantage down the stretch.
Wagoner led the Cougars with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Blalock finished with 10 points and two steals. O'Shaughnessy finished with nine points, six boards and four assists. Graduate
