Women’s Bowling Close Out First Half of Season at Lady Eagles Classic

GWYNN OAKS, Md.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team closed out the first half of the season as they wrapped up play on day two of the Lady Eagles Classic hosted by Coppin State University.  
 
The Cougars won their opening match on the final day of the tournament, defeating host Coppin State 909-859. Caldwell closed out the baker format round robin with an 859-782 loss to Chestnut Hill College
 
The tournament advanced to baker best 4-of-7 bracket format where they faced Norfolk State University in their first match. Caldwell lost their first three rounds 158-134, 170-156 and 198-154. The Cougars won the next two 176-158 and 172-148 before falling 179-169 to lose 4-2 in their opening match.
 
The Cougars wrapped up the tournament against Wagner College with Caldwell winning the first match 202-145. Caldwell lost the next four 177-142, 166-150, 156-137 and 169-161, falling 4-1.
 
The Cougars are off until after the Christmas break and will return to action February 4-5, 2023 as they compete in the Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill.
