Sherwood Posts 11th Triple-Double as Women’s Volleyball Defeats Felician to Close out Season

RUTHERFORD, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball junior Reese Sherwood (Salem Ore.) recorded her 11th triple-double as the Cougars closed out their season with a 3-1 win over Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest
                                                                                                         
The Cougars end their season at 9-17 overall and 8-10 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 3-25 and 2-15 in conference play.
 
Caldwell took the opening set 25-15, while the teams played a competitive second set. The Cougars and the Golden Falcons traded leads in the second set but Caldwell surged late to win 25-23. The Cougars pulled ahead 15-9 in the third set but Felician rallied back to take a 19-18 lead. The teams traded points but the Golden Falcons pushed ahead to win 25-23.
 
The Golden Falcons jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the fourth set but the Cougars battled back to take a 19-16 lead. Caldwell maintained their lead to take the set 25-20 to win the match.
 
Sherwood posted her 11th triple-double of the season with 14 kills, 18 assists and 10 digs along with a season-high five service aces and two total blocks. Junior Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) recorded 10 kills and four total blocks (one solo), while graduate Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with eight kills and two aces.
 
Senior Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) totaled eight kills, two aces and three total blocks, while senior Alexsandra Mojica (Kearny, N.J.) added seven kills, two blocks and four digs.
 
Graduate Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) added 20 assists and nine digs, while sophomore Karin Ojeda (Toms River, N.J.) posted nine digs and three aces.
 
Graduate Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the way with a match-high 20 digs, finishing her career with 2,049 digs, ranking second all-time in school history.
