COLCHESTER, Vt.- Caldwell University women's soccer graduate
Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.) headed in the game-winning goal in the final seconds of double overtime to lift the Cougars to a 3-2 win over Saint Michael's College to close out their season-opening trip.
The Cougars improve to 1-1-0, while the Purple Knights fall to 1-1-0.
Caldwell struck first as junior
Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) scored in the second minute of play off an assist from junior
Nicole Alfano (Union, N.J.) to give the Cougars the early lead.
Saint Michael's pulled even in the 25th minute of play as the game was tied at 1-1 at halftime. The Purple Knights took a 2-1 lead midway through the second half with a goal in the 61st minute.
The Cougars netted the equalizer in the 79th minute as sophomore

In the extra periods, both teams had scoring opportunities but the Cougars broke through in the waning seconds of the game. Caldwell had a free kick with under a minute to play as senior
Hannah Marino (Pennington, N.J.) fed the ball into the box that Darling headed into the net for the game-winner.
Senior
Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) played the entire game in net, recording six saves to earn the win.
The Cougars travel to American International College on Wednesday, September 8 for a non-conference clash at 6 pm.
