NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team was selected to finish in third place in the North Division in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Cougars earned 55 points, which was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches who have teams.
 
Felician University was picked to win the North Division with 60 points and five first place votes. Post University came in second place with 56 points and five first place votes followed by the Cougars with 55 points and two first place votes. Bloomfield College rounded out the top-four in the division with 38 points and one first place vote
 
Holy Family University topped the South Division with 81 points and nine first place votes. Georgian Court University earned 76 points and picked up four first place votes. Thomas Jefferson University (54 points) and Wilmington University (53) rounded out the top-four in the South.
 
The Cougars begin their season at home as they host Queens College on Tuesday, September 7. Caldwell plays four matches at the East Stroudsburg University Tournament September 10-11 and begin conference play against Bloomfield on Wednesday, September 15.
 
Head Coach Amy Berry returns for her second season and her first full fall season after having coached the Cougars through the COVID-19 shortened spring 2021 season. The Cougars finished 3-3 in conference play during the spring season and reached the CACC Quarterfinals.
 
The Cougars return sophomore Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) who averaged 2.14 kills per set, totaling 60 for the season. She led the team with 31 total blocks in the spring. Sophomore Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) averaged 7.79 assists per set and added 35 kills and 18 total blocks. Senior Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 4.14 digs per set.
