CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer sophomore
Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) netted a pair of goals as the Cougars fell 6-4 to Concordia College in the Spring 2021 season opener.
The Cougars open their season at 0-1-0 and 0-1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. The Clippers start their season at 1-0-0 and 1-0-0 in conference play.
Senior
Mateo Cobos (Newark, N.J.) got the Cougars on the board in the 32nd minute. Concordia tied the game with a goal on minute later and took the lead three minutes later.
Vieira tied the game in the 38th minute but the Clippers scored 25 seconds later to take a 3-2 halftime lead.
Freshman
Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) scored the tying goal early in the second half. Concordia answered with two goals to pull ahead 5-3.
Vieira netted his second goal of the game in the 81st minute but the Clippers added goal in the 82nd minute and maintained the lead.
Freshman
Jalen Folsom (Beachwood, N.J.) recorded four saves in 63 minutes of action, while senior
Anthony Tirri (Colonia, N.J.) posted four saves in 27 minutes.
The Cougars travel to Dominican College for a CACC contest on Friday, March 12 at 2 pm.
