ORANGEBURG, N.Y.- Caldwell University women's volleyball junior
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) netted 16 kills to help the Cougars defeat Dominican College 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Caldwell took the opening set 25-16 but the Chargers took the second set 25-21 to even the match. The Cougars won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-20 to take the match.
Smith tallied 16 kills, 12 digs and three aces, while freshman
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) added 12 kills and two blocks.
Freshman
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) totaled nine kills, 16 assists, three aces and 11 digs. Junior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with 27 assists and three aces, while junior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with 25 digs.
