LAKEWOOD, N.J.- Caldwell University men's basketball junior
Anthony Cooper (Ashburn, Va.) netted 20 points in the Cougars 85-66 loss to Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 4-3 on the season and 4-3 in the CACC, while the Lions improve to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The game remained close over the first 10 minutes of the game with the score being tied at 20 with 10:31 remaining in the half. The Lions pushed their lead to double digits late in the half as the Cougars trailed 50-31 at halftime.
The Cougars closed to gap to 10 points the 9:09 mark of the second half following a bucket by graduate
Gerald Blount (Jersey City, N.J.). Georgian Court answered as they held the lead down the stretch.
Cooper led the way with 20 points, three rebounds and two steals for the Cougars. Freshman
Daniel Dade Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) added 14 points and six boards, while Blount finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Cougars travel to Concordia College for a CACC contest on Sunday, February 21 at 12 pm. The game will be streamed on the CACC Network at caccnetwork.com.
