NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J.- Caldwell University women's bowling sophomore
Rhianna Smith (Mount Olive, N.J.) earned tournament MVP honors as she led the Cougars to a 4-1 record on the final day of the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth University. Caldwell finished in third place with a total pin fall of 4,530.
The Cougars won their first two matches as they edged Bloomfield College 898-877 and Monmouth 940-909. Caldwell fell to Felician University 925-873 in their lone loss of the day. The Cougars defeated Fairleigh Dickinson University 920-884 and ended the day with an 899-749 win over New Jersey City University.
Smith earned top honors as she posted a 203.6 traditional average with a high game of 222. Junior
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) finished in seventh place with a 188 traditional average with a high round of 229.
Senior
Madison Perry (Hawthorne, N.J.) took eighth place as she recorded a 185.4 traditional average with a high game of 221, while junior
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) placed 15
th with an average of 165 and a high round of 203.
The Cougars will await the final East Coast Conference standings as the top-four in the ECC will compete in the conference championship that will be held February 26-27 in Mineola, N.Y.
