OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.- The Caldwell University men's lacrosse team fell to New York Tech 17-5 in a non-conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 1-1 overall, while the Bears improve to 3-2.
The Bears netted the first five goals of the game to take the early lead. Freshman
Owen Healey (Washington, N.J.) tallied two goals to cut the score to 5-2 early in the second quarter.
Freshman
Kevin Albright (Mays Landing, N.J.) added a second quarter goal for Caldwell but the Cougars trailed 8-3 at halftime.
New York Tech extended their lead in the third quarter as they pushed ahead by 10 goals. Freshman
Brandon Ludwig (Cortland, N.Y.) and Healey added goals late in the fourth quarter for the Cougars.
Freshman
Tim Livingston (Holtsville, N.Y.) played 45 minutes in net and recorded eight saves. Sophomore
Wayne Safreed (Mt. Arlington, N.J.) recorded two saves in 15 minutes of work in net.
The Cougars return to action for their home opener on Friday, March 13 against Alderson Broaddus University at 4 pm at Essex Valley Field in West Caldwell.
