CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's lacrosse team opens its 2020 season on the road as the Cougars travel to Kutztown University on Wednesday, February 26. The Cougars were was selected to finish tied for fifth place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches Poll earlier this month. The Cougars, entering its seventh season, reached the CACC Tournament for a fourth straight season in 2019.
Scouting the Cougars
Caldwell finished the 2019 season with 6-11 overall record and captured fifth place in the CACC with a 5-4 conference mark. The Cougars fell short in the CACC Championship Quarterfinals to Dominican 19-18 in overtime. Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.). She was a CACC First Team All-Conference selection and was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Second Team All-Atlantic Region. Junior
Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) was a CACC Second Team All-Conference selection last season.
Scouting the Golden Bears
The Golden Bears lost their season opener this past Saturday to the University of Bridgeport 15-13. Erin Vaughan Ware led the way with five points, while Devon Fitzpatrick and Cyrose Conteh each netted three goals each.

Next Up
The Cougars will play three games over the next week as they travel to Bridgeport on Friday and head to Long Island to face Molloy College on Sunday. Caldwell travels to St. Thomas Aquinas College next Tuesday, March 3. The Cougars open their home slate on Saturday, March 21 for their conference opener against Chestnut Hill College.
