CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) joined the 200-three-point club as the Cougars fell to Pace University 58-46 in a non-conference contest. She becomes the sixth player in program history to connect on 200 career three-pointers.
The Cougars fall to 1-11 overall, while the Setters improve to 10-3.
Caldwell led 7-6 midway through the opening quarter as sophomore
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) netted three points in the early going. The teams traded points with the Cougars holding an 11-10 lead late in the quarter.
Pace pushed ahead 19-13 early in the second quarter but freshman
Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) and Henderson netted buckets to close the gap to 19-17 at the 6:07 mark. The Setters made a run to close out the half as they led 32-21 at halftime.
The Cougars rallied back to start the second half as Lebron netted four points early in the half. Sophomore
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) capped the run with a trifecta to cut the score to 34-30 at the 6:55 mark.
Pace scored six points in row to push their lead to double digits late in the quarter. Caldwell got as close as seven points with 2:30 left in the game as Lebron drained her milestone three-pointer.
Henderson led the way with 11 points and seven rebounds. Lebron added eight points, while freshman
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) totaled six points and three boards. Freshman
Imogen Cook (North Berwick, Scotland) posted six points and four steals, while Dits netted five points and five boards.
Graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) finished with four assists.
Lebron became the sixth member of Caldwell's 200-three-point club, joining Head Coach Torey-Northup Jones (234 threes, 2009-13) along with Kristen Drogsler (223, 2014-18), Antoinette Pilla (218, 2013-17), Kirsty Leedham (202, 2007-11) and Nicole Angelo (201, 2012-16).
The Cougars host Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Saturday, January 4 at 1 pm.
