PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University men's basketball senior
Ruud Lutterman (Dalem, Netherlands) dropped in 18 points as the Cougars cruised past the University of the Sciences 78-64 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in the CACC, while the Devils fall to 3-12 and 1-7 in conference play.
Caldwell scored the first 11 points of the game as senior
Eric Johnson-Alford (Clifton, N.J.) netted six points, while senior
AJ Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) converted a three-point play to help the Cougars take the early lead.
The Cougars raced ahead 22-6 midway through the half on their way to a 47-26 halftime advantage. Lutterman totaled 14 points in the half with Johnson-Alford adding 12 points.
Senior
Vaughn Covington (Sicklerville, N.J.) drained a jumper early in the second half to push their lead to as much as 23 points. Caldwell maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Lutterman led the way with 18 points and nine boards. Johnson-Alford totaled 14 points and seven rebounds, while Covington finished with 11 points, three rebounds and five steals. Freshman

The Cougars travel to Chestnut Hill College for a CACC contest on Saturday, January 18 at 3:00 pm.
