Overview
The Caldwell University Women's Volleyball team will start their 2019 campaign at home this Friday, September 6 against Stonehill College at 6:00pm. The Cougars will take on Assumption College and the defending NE-10 Champions Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven Conn, Saturday September 7.

Scouting the Cougars
- Caldwell was selected tied with Post University for first place in the 2019 CACC Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll.
- The Cougars are coming off an overall record of 15-17, and 12-7 record in conference play last season.
- Cougars returners including CACC First Team selection sophomore outside hitter Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.). Smith averaged 3.77 kills per set last season, totaling 434 kills. She added 34 aces, 203 digs and 43 total blocks.
- Senior middle blocker Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) returns as the team's top player in the middle after earning all-conference honors in 2017. She led the team with 80 blocks last season and added 148 kills.
- Junior Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) was second on the team with 217 kills last season. She added 20 aces and 30 blocks.
- Junior Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) totaled 176 kills and 37 blocks last season.
- Sophomore Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 4.10 digs per set last season for the Cougars and added 24 aces.
- Sophomore Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J) led the team with 6.73 assists per set for Caldwell last season.
Scouting the Skyhawks
- Stonehill is ranked 11th on the NE10 Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
- The Skyhawks are coming off an overall record of 11-11, and 7-7 record in conference play last season.
- Key Returners: Junior Sophia Poveda finished second on the team in kills per set averaging 2.48 for a career high, while sophomore
- Abby Remick followed her with 2.43 kills per set.
- Sophomore Lauren Wilke returns as she averaged 9.71 assists per set, to rank fourth in the NE10 last season, bringing the 2018 team to the top of the archives with 11.99 assists per set.
- Wilke and Remick were two of the three Skyhawks that were named to NE10 All-Conference teams, as the sophomores received All-Rookie team honors.
- Poveda and senior Rachel Dunlavy led the team in service aces per set, averaging 0.47 and 0.39, respectively, with Poveda ranking fourth in the NE10.
- Dunlavy also improved from her sophomore season as she saw a career high 4.25 digs per set to lead the team and rank fifth in the NE10.
- Sophomore Clare Feeman led the Skyhawks in blocks per set, averaging 0.71 in her first year in the Purple & White.
Next Up
Following this weekend's season opening matches, the Cougars head to the Bentley University Tournament for four matches September 14-15.
