WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell women's lacrosse sophomore
Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) totaled 13 points as the Cougars netted a program record 28 goals in a 28-17 win over Holy Family University on senior day. Caldwell secured fifth place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and will travel to #4 Dominican College on Tuesday.
The Cougars improve to 6-10 overall and finish the regular season with a 5-4 record in CACC play. The Tigers end their season at 3-13 and 2-7 in conference play.

Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) added a goal for a 2-0 lead. The Cougars pushed ahead 5-2 as junior

Jenna Steelman (Mays Landing, N.J.) added goals for Caldwell.
The Tigers closed the gap to 5-3 but the Cougars answered with four straight goals. Collum and Kassaleh netted goals, while Murphy tallied two goals to extend their lead to 9-3. Kassaleh netted three goals, while Collum added a goal over the final 10 minutes as the Cougars held a 13-9 lead at halftime.

Holy Family battled back with four straight goals to cut the score to 20-16 midway through the half. Caldwell answered with eight goals in a row. Kassaleh netted three goals, while Murphy scored twice. Lasko, Collum and Steelman added goals down the stretch,

Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) played the first half in net and recorded six saves in the first half. Freshman
Mia Monacelli (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) posted eight saves in the second half.
Murphy led the way with eight goals, five assists and four draw controls. Kassaleh added 10 points, two assists, 15 draw controls and two ground balls. Steelman tallied three goals, two assists and two groundballs. Collum finished with four goals and seven draw controls, while Lasko posted two goals and one assist. Lucia tallied one goal, one assist, two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Prior to the game, Caldwell Athletics honored its graduating seniors on Benedetto, Collum and Lucia for their outstanding contributions to the women's lacrosse program.
Caldwell's season continues as they secured fifth place in the CACC. The Cougars travel to #4 seed Dominican on Tuesday, April 30 at 4 p.m. at Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn, New York in the CACC Championship Quarterfinals.
