Softball Sweeps Dominican in CACC Doubleheader

CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University softball junior Christina Misiur (Sayreville, N.J.) drove in four runs as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Dominican College.

The Cougars even their record at 13-13 and improve to 6-2 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 10-13 and 7-3 in conference play.

Caldwell loaded the bases in the first inning as freshman Nora Conway (Chicago, Ill.) was hit by a pitch and stole second. Sophomore Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) reached base on an error and sophomore Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.) hit into a fielder's choice to load the bases. Sophomore Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) singled in one run, while Misiur doubled in two runs for a 3-0 lead.

Dominican got on the board in the second as they scored a run on an error. The Cougars added two runs in the fourth. Sophomore Anyssia Ramirez (Brentwood, Calif.) reached on an error to start the inning. Junior Daniela Solis (Wilmington, Del.) doubled to put runners in scoring position. Conway doubled with one out, while Testa was hit by a pitch and Rodriguez drew a walk to load the bases. Misiur doubled in two runs for a 3-0 lead.
