RUTHERFORD, N.J.- The Caldwell University softball team remained unbeaten in conference play as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Felician University. The Cougars took the opener 15-5 in five innings and won the nightcap 6-1.

The Cougars improve to 8-10 overall and 4-0 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons fall to 7-18 and 3-5 in conference play.

Caldwell posted 14 hits in the game one victory. Junior
Jessie Johnston (Livermore, Calif.) went 2-for-4 with seven RBI, including a grand slam homerun. Sophomore
Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) went 3-for-4 with a homerun, three RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore
Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) collected three hits in four at-bats with two RBI. Junior
Christina Misiur (Sayreville, N.J.) went 2-for-2 with double run scoring doubles.

Sara Bearden (Ewing, N.J.) tossed four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits with two strikeouts to improve to 5-3. Freshman
Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) pitched a scoreless inning.

In the nightcap, Misiur drew a leadoff walk in the second inning. She moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by freshman
Lauren Stansell (Plantation, Fla.). Felician tied the game score with a run in their half of the inning.

Caldwell took the lead with a run in the fifth inning. The Cougars added three runs in the sixth as freshman
Nora Conway (Chicago, Ill.) hit a sacrifice fly. Sandoval added a run scoring double in the inning.

Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) tossed a complete game, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts to improve to 3-6.

The Cougars travel to NYIT for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, March 28 at 2:30 pm.
