READING, Pa.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted three wins to earn the third seed following day one of the East Coast Conference Championships on Friday. In their first season as an associate member of the ECC, the Cougars are seeded third heading into Saturday's double-elimination portion of the ECC Championships after posting a 3-2 record with a total pin fall of 4,792 on Friday.
Caldwell opened the Friday's seeding play with a 997-919 loss to Wilmington University. The Cougars won three straight matches as they defeated Bloomfield College 972-761 for their first conference victory. Caldwell downed Daemen College 1,013-800 and defeated Roberts Wesleyan College 1,007-920. The Cougars ended the day with a 1,037-881 loss to Adelphi University.
Freshman
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) led the Cougars with a 20.38 baker average in 49 frames. Freshman
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) competed in 24 frames and posted a 20.45 baker average. Sophomore
Madison Perry (Hawthorne, N.J.) added a 19.91 baker average in 49 frames.
Senior
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazleton, Pa.) finished with an 18.55 baker average in 49 frames, while senior
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, N.J.) posted a baker average of 18.40 in 49 frames. Senior
Madison Miller (West Deptford, N.J.) rounded out the top performers with a 16.00 baker average in 25 frames.
The #3 Cougars earned a bye to start Saturday's double-elimination format. Caldwell opens play at 12:10 pm and will face the winner of #6 Molloy College-#11 Daemen, which will take place on 10:30 a.m. Pool standings and schedule for the weekend is provided below.
