NYACK, N.Y.- Caldwell University men's basketball junior
Ned Ogoemesim (Westampton, N.J.) posted a double-double as the Cougars won their eighth in a row with a 62-53 win over Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 16-10 overall and 12-5 in the CACC, while the Warriors fall to 5-20 and 4-13 in conference play.
Caldwell broke out of the gate to pull ahead 19-8 midway through the opening half. Ogoemesim scored seven points, while junior
AJ Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) added six points for the Cougars. Nyack closed the gap to three points but five points in the final three minutes from senior
Ahmad Harrison (Newark, N.J.) gave the Caldwell a 26-18 halftime lead.
The Warriors got off to a quick start in the second half as they pulled even at 34 with 12:32 left in the game. Caldwell ripped off a 10-2 run powered by six points from junior
Ruud Lutterman (Dalem, Netherlands) to push the Cougars back in front 44-36 with under 10 minutes remaining in the contest. Caldwell outpaced the Warriors down the stretch to remain unbeaten in the month of February.
Ogoemesim posted 13 points and nine rebounds, while Harrison added 11 points and eight boards. Kittles finished with 10 points and six rebounds, while sophomore
Manley Dorme (Nanuet, N.Y.) added nine points and four boards.
The Cougars host to Concordia College on Wednesday, February 27 for a CACC contest at 7:30 pm. Prior to the game, Caldwell will recognize its two graduating seniors.
