NYACK, N.Y.- Caldwell University men's basketball sophomore
Anthony Cooper (Ashburn, Va.) tallied 18 points as the Cougars downed Nyack College 80-65 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.

The Cougars improve to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the CACC, while the Warriors fall to 4-5 and 0-2 in conference play.

Caldwell got off to a quick start as they took an 11-4 lead over the first four minutes of the game. Senior
AJ Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) drained an early three-pointer, while senior
Eric Johnson-Alford (Clifton, N.J.) added four points to help the Cougars build an early lead.

The Warriors pulled to within seven points midway through the half but Cooper connected on a pair of trifectas. Senior
Ned Ogoemesim (Westampton, N.J.) drained a three-pointer at the 1:24 mark to give Caldwell a 41-23 lead. Nyack cut the score to 45-28 at halftime.

Johnson-Alford and Cooper netted four points each early in the second half to help Caldwell maintain their halftime advantage. The Cougars led by as much as 21 points as they held a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Cooper led the way with 18 points, while Kittles tallied 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Johnson-Alford finished with 12 points and three rebounds. Ogoemesim totaled nine points and six boards.
