CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball sophomore
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) netted 11 points as the Cougars fell to Assumption College 52-38 in a non-conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 1-8 overall while the Greyhounds improve to 5-4.
Caldwell got off to a fast start as senior
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) drained a three-pointer to start the game. The Cougars scored the first five points of the game as they took a 9-4 lead over the first three minutes of the game.
Assumption rallied back as they took a 25-13 midway through the second quarter. The Cougars scored the final four points of the quarter as Henderson hit a free throw and jumper to cut the score to 25-17 at halftime.
The Greyhounds pushed ahead 32-20 midway through the third quarter but the Cougars battled back to trim the score down to eight points. Henderson netted a pair of buckets, while freshman
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) added a hoop to close the gap to 34-26 with 2:24 to play in the third quarter.
Assumption answered as they extended their lead to double digits midway through the fourth quarter and held the lead the rest of the way.
Henderson tallied 11 points and seven rebounds in the game. Sophomore
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) finished with seven points and six boards.
The Cougars host The Lincoln University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, December 17 at 5 pm.
