CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team defeated Goldey-Beacom College 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars improve to 12-17 overall and 10-7 in the CACC, while the Lightning fall to 5-21 and 2-15 in conference play.
Caldwell took the opening set 25-14 but Goldey-Beacom won the second set 25-20. The Cougars won the next two sets 25-12 and 25-18 to win the match.
Junior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) led the way with 16 kills, three aces and four digs. Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) posted 12 kills and six digs, while sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) chipped in 12 kills, 15 digs and two aces.
Senior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) netted four kills and two blocks, while freshman
Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) totaled three kills and four blocks. Sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded a season-high 34 digs, while sophomore
Sophie Hicks (Christchurch, New Zealand) finished with 42 assists.
The Cougars travel to Felician University for a key CACC North Division battle on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 pm.
