Overview
The Caldwell University Women's Basketball team will open their 2019-2020 season at the NE10/CACC Challenge hosted at St. Michael's College this weekend. The Cougars will compete against The College of Saint Rose on Friday at 5 pm and face host St. Michael's on Saturday at 3 pm. Last season, the Cougars were 11-8 in conference play, finishing in second place in the CACC North Division. This season, the Cougars were picked to finish in the second place in the North Division in the CACC Preseason Coaches poll.
 
Scouting the Cougars

• Senior Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) scored 12.3 points per game and set the single season three-point record with 86 from deep last season.
• Graduate Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) averaged 11.2 points per game and was second on the team with 3.4 assists per game.
• Sophomore Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) led the Cougars with 6.5 rebounds per game, while averaging 7.7 points per contest.

 
Scouting the Golden Knights

• Last season, the College of Saint Rose were 11-16 overall and 4-16 in conference.
• Junior Takora McIntyre averaged 2.7 points per game last season.
• The team averaged 4.3 rebounds per game.

 
Scouting the Purple Knights

• Last season, St. Michael's College were 11-15 overall and 7-14 in conference.
• Junior guard Nicole Anderson returns as the team's top leading scorer. She averaged 12.6 points while draining 52 three-pointers, shooting 35.9 percent from deep.
• Senior Alyssa Breunig finished second on the team in three with 26 and blocks with 15.
