CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team outlasted Concordia College in a five set victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
The Cougars improve to 8-13 overall and 6-3 in the CACC, while the Clippers fall to 3-6 and 3-6 in conference play.
Caldwell won the first set 25-15 but Concordia took the second set 25-21. The Cougars pulled away in the third set 25-12 but the Clippers evened the match with a 25-22 fourth set win. Caldwell took the match with a 15-9 win in the deciding set.
Sophomore
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) led the Cougars with 21 kills, 12 digs and five aces. Junior
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) chipped in 13 kills, while senior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) totaled 11 kills.
Junior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) netted 15 digs, while freshman
Cassandra Rother (Fresno, Calif.) tallied seven kills, two aces and four blocks. Sophomore
Sophie Hicks (Christchurch, New Zealand) finished with 36 assists and 12 digs, while sophomore
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) posted 18 digs.
The Cougars travel to Holy Family University for a CACC contest on Saturday, October 19 at 5:30 pm.
