WILMINGTON, Del.- Caldwell University men's basketball senior
Ahmad Harrison (Newark, N.J.) scored 13 points as the Cougars fell to Goldey-Beacom College 85-58 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the CACC, while the Lightning improve to 8-7 and 6-1 in conference play.
Caldwell took the early lead as Harrison drained a triple, while sophomore
Manley Dorme (Nanuet, N.Y.) netted four points over the first six minutes of play. Junior
AJ Kittles (Glassboro, N.J.) added four points and capped the run with lay-up at the 13:56 mark for a 13-8 lead.
Goldey-Beacom battled back as they pushed ahead by double digits late in the half. Harrison connected on a late three-pointer to cut the score to 38-25 at halftime.
The Lightning scored the first five points to start the second half as they maintained their double-digit lead.
Harrison led the way with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Junior
Vaughn Covington (Sicklerville, N.J.) added 10 points, two boards and three assists. Junior
Eric Johnson-Alford (Clifton, N.J.) grabbed nine rebounds.
The Cougars host Nyack College on Wednesday, January 16 in a CACC contest at 7:30 pm.
