CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team cruised past Dominican College 3-0 in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener.

The Cougars improve to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while the Chargers drop to 0-4 and 0-1 in conference play.

Caldwell won the match in three straight sets 25-7, 25-7 and 25-12.

Freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) and sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) posted matching lines with eight kills and five digs each.

Junior
Katie Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) posted seven kills, four blocks and four digs, while freshman
Madison Day (Rockledge, Fla.) chipped in seven kills.

Senior
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) tallied 10 assists and two aces, while freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 10 assists. Freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with 11 digs and two aces. Â

The Cougars will compete in the Post University Tournament this weekend as they open play on Saturday, September 8 against Le Moyne College at 1:30 pm and NYIT at 5:30 pm. Â
