ROCKVILLE, CENTRE, N.Y.- Caldwell University men's soccer junior
Erlend Aase (Bergen, Norway) netted a late goal to tie the game but the Cougars fell to Molloy College 3-2 in overtime.
The Cougars fall to 0-5-1 overall, while the Lions improve to 2-4-0.
Caldwell struck first as sophomore
Sander Golmen (Lier, Belgium) scored off a free kick to put the Cougars in front 1-0 in the 18th minute of play.
Molloy tied the game in the 23rd minute off a penalty kick. The Lions pushed ahead in the 32nd minute and held a 2-1 halftime lead.
The Cougars battled through the second half with five shots. Caldwell came up with equalizer with just over two minutes left in regulation. Senior
Kyle Hill (New Milford, N.J.) assisted on Aase's goal to tie the game and force overtime.
Molloy scored the game-winning goal just over two minutes into the first overtime.
Sophomore
Nils Svere (Lier, Norway) recorded four saves for the Cougars.
Caldwell hosts Felician University on Wednesday, September 19 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at 4 pm.
