WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's lacrosse junior 
Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) totaled four points as the Cougars fell to Chestnut Hill College 15-9 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
 
The Cougars fall to 1-6 on the season and 1-2 in the CACC, while the Griffins improve to 5-4 and 2-1 in conference play.
 
The Griffins took the lead with four goals, while Lucia netted a pair of goals as the Cougars trailed 4-2 with 17:31 left in the first half. The teams traded goals as freshman 
Samantha Murphy (Pompton Plains, N.J.) kept Caldwell within two goals with a tally at the 13:28 mark.
 
Chestnut Hill extended their lead to 7-3 late in the first half. Lucia netted her third goal of the game off an assist from sophomore 
Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) with 4:35 left in the half. The Griffins added a goal with under a minute to play to lead 8-4 at halftime.
 
Murphy scored early in the second half but the Griffins answered to make the score 9-5. Caldwell rallied as senior 
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals to cut the score to 9-7. Chestnut Hill tacked on three goals to push their lead to 12-7 midway through the half.
 
Schenck netted a goal off a Kassaleh assist, while freshman 
Jules Wesler (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) netted a goal an assist from junior 
Jessica Collum (Wayne, N.J.) as the Cougars battled back to within 12-9 with just over 10 minutes left in the game. The Griffins added three goals over the final six minutes.
 
Junior 
Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) recorded 14 saves in the loss. Lucia finished with four points, four ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls. Schenck posted three goals, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Collum and Kassaleh each netted two assists with Kassaleh recording three caused turnovers and five draw controls. Murphy tallied two goals, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
 
The Cougars travel to Wilmington University for a CACC contest on Saturday, April 7 at 12 pm.
