BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- Caldwell University men's basketball junior 
Ruud Lutterman (Dalem, Netherlands) posted a double-double as the Cougars defeated Concordia College 80-74 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
 
The Cougars improve to 5-2 and 2-0 in the CACC, while the Clippers drop to 3-5 and 0-1 in conference play.
 
Caldwell scored the first seven points of the game as Lutterman netted five points. Concordia answered as they took a two-point lead at 11-9 with 15:37 left in the half.
 
The Cougars battled back paced by triples by Lutterman, junior 
Vaughn Covington (Sicklerville, N.J.) and junior 
Ned Ogoemesim (Westampton, N.J.). Caldwell pushed ahead 23-16 midway through the opening half. Concordia closed the gap to two points late in the half but the Cougars held a 45-42 lead at halftime.
 
Caldwell extended their lead to 63-54 midway through the second half. Lutterman netted eight points, while senior 
Ahmad Harrison (Newark, N.J.) netted six points to help the Cougars build a lead.
 
The Clippers rallied to tie the game at 67 with just under five minutes to play in the game. Caldwell went on a 7-1 run as Ogoemesim converted a key three-point play in the run. Covington netted a bucket at the 3:19 mark to put Caldwell ahead 74-68. The Cougars held off the Clippers down the stretch as Ogoemesim drained a triple, while Covington added a pair of free throws in the final minute.
 
Lutterman posted his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds along with two assists. Harrison also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards along with five assists and three steals. Covington tallied 10 points, nine assists, five rebounds and three steals. Ogoemesim finished with 12 points and six rebounds.
 
The Cougars host Bloomfield College on Saturday, December 8 in a CACC match-up at 3 pm at the George R. Newman Center. Caldwell University will dedicate to playing court to long-time head coach 
Mark A. Corino in a pregame ceremony. The game will be featured as part of the NCAA Division II Basketball Showcase for the 2018-19 season. The doubleheader with the men's game following the women's game will be televised on FIOS1 and streamed live on the following platforms:
