WEST CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University sprint football team closed out its 2018 season with a 26-6 loss to Chestnut Hill College in Collegiate Sprint Football League South Division play.

The Cougars end their season at 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the CSFL South Division, while the Griffins conclude their season at 4-3 and 3-1 in division play.

Chestnut Hill used special teams to build a first half lead. The Griffins got a first quarter punt return for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. Chestnut Hill added a field goal early in the second quarter to push ahead 10-0 at halftime.

The Cougars got their lone touchdown early in the second half as Caldwell recovered a Chestnut Hill fumble to set up the offense deep in Griffin territory. Freshman quarterback
Tajae' Irby (South Plainfield, N.J.) scrambled for 18 yards on a third-and-17 play to keep the drive alive. Three plays later, sophomore
Carl Watson (Newark, N.J.) scored from six yards out to cut the score to 10-6.

Chestnut Hill added two touchdowns along with a safety in the fourth quarter to pull away from Caldwell late in the game.

Irby tossed for 86 yards on 9-for-20 passing. Watson rushed 18 times for 26 yards and the team's lone touchdown. He added two receptions for 43 yards.

Sophomore
Randy Antenor (Jersey City, N.J.) led the defense with nine tackles, including three for losses and a half sack. Junior
Adam Robbs (Westampton, N.J.) totaled seven tackles, including 4.5 for losses and forced a fumble. Sophomore
Colin Williams (East Orange, N.J.) tallied seven tackles, two for losses and one sack. Sophomore
Royce Francisco (Passaic, N.J.) recorded six tackles, three for losses and two sacks.
